Welcome to my website!
I, Said el Amir aka Gerd Mittag, provide interested dancers and dance teachers with all the necessary tools for their dance and/or dance teaching careers based on scientific findings both in seminars and as open access literature or other publications available.
To this end, I draw on the knowledge gained from over 35 years of dance teaching experience, two master's programs in Dance Science (one with distinction), and a master's program in Vocational Education (master's thesis 1.0), both in dance classes and theoretical seminars. My book "Competence-Oriented Dance Instruction - Vocational Education Aspects" was published by Springer-Verlag .
I am currently writing my pedagogical and didactic expertise in my dissertation for a doctorate in philosophy at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg on the topic of "Pedagogically Supportive Teaching Methods for Non-Academic Dance Forms."
As a multilingual instructor (German, English, French, and Spanish) and international performer, I welcome inquiries for trainings, intensives, or workshops from all over the world. If you are interested and/or have any questions, simply send an email to info@jomdance.com .
Sincerely, Said el Amir (aka Gerd Mittag)

jomdance is:
Colorful as a rainbow and clear as the water. The movement repertoire that I learned within jomdance is not only technically sound and skillfully combined, but above all an enrichment and addition for Middle Eastern dance. jomdance is like an answer to all questions while dancing.

Due to the extensive background knowledge of Said el Amir both in classical Middle Eastern dance, as well as in modern dance styles and also in dance medicine issues and his constructive, warm-hearted and yet demanding way of teaching, I was able to improve myself tremendously both technically and in expression and was encouraged to cross some personal limits in dance.

jomdance opens up unprecedented opportunities for choreography and teaching. Dancing vocabulary and professional implementation correspond to international standards of dance pedagogy. The jomdance training is a quantum leap for every dance artist, no matter what level, no matter what function.
